Fees & FAQs
Session Fees

The current Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee for psychology services is $300 per hour. At Heed Psychology, fees are $230 per standard appointment for clients seeking support in person or via telehealth. Appointments for plan managed NDIS clients are charged at the current set rate for psychology, which is $222.99 per hour.

Medicare Rebates & Private Health
Anyone can seek psychological support without a referral. This process involves contacting the clinic and booking in for an appointment. Standard appointment fees apply ($230 per session).

GP or Psychiatry referral: this means that you book an appointment under a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) which is developed with your GP or psychiatrist. If eligible, a MHTP entitles you to a Medicare rebate (currently $92.90 per session) for up to 10 sessions per year.

If you have private health insurance, you may be able to receive a rebate on your psychology sessions. Please check with your insurer to confirm.

What does a typical session look like?

Our first session together will involve understanding the type of support you might be needing, getting to know you as a whole person and working to establish relevant goals for your treatment episode. Most clients will attend sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis, and sessions are 50 minutes in duration, allowing for 10 minutes at the end of your session, for notes.
Subsequent sessions will involve working proactively together to support you in seeing meaningful change; therapy should feel like a safe and reflective space. As your therapist, I value and work from a place of compassion, integrity and curiosity.
I look forward to working with you.
